M/V Merlin

 Merlin is a United States-built medium offshore supply vessel with a long operational history supporting government, research, and offshore operations. Acquired from the US Marshals Service by a US Navy contractor in 2004, Merlin underwent a major refit between 2004 and 2007 to meet US Navy operational requirements and serve as a multi-role contract vessel for Department of Defense programs. Since that time, Merlin has operated extensively throughout the US West Coast, Hawaii, and South America, including a transit through the Panama Canal, supporting a wide range of government and private sector missions. Merlin is continually updated and remains unmatched on the west coast and beyond.

Merlin has extensive experience supporting multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) and autonomous surface vessels (ASV). Including the testing, operations, towing, launch and recovery, and acoustic tracking deployments. Merlin is outfitted with a large moon pool for multiple types of acoustic tracking systems and oceanographic equipment, as well as a heavy-duty knuckle boom crane capable of launching and recovering vessels and equipment.

Additional capabilities include a commercial dive platform and ladder, ample deck space for mission equipment, and an internal layout designed for extended offshore operations. Merlin comfortably accommodates crews and contractors with five private staterooms and a full-service commercial galley, making her well suited for multi-day offshore missions. 

With her proven operational record and adaptable layout, Merlin provides a reliable and versatile platform for offshore research, dive support, defense support, marine technology testing, and commercial operations.
